I Want to Hear What YOU Have to Say.....

So as you can see I have not been keeping up with my blog this month.  Writers block?  Too busy?  Nothing to write about?  No, it's none of those....I always have stuff to say,  just ask my husband. =)  If I have time to "play" on facebook then I should have time to write.....right?  I have plenty to write about.....so what is it?  Blogging can be so weird because you really don't know who is reading and who you are affecting.  Sometimes I just wonder, "Who is out there?" =) I love hearing that people are reading, but most of the time the people I hear from don't leave comments, so I never would have known they were reading at all.  So now I want to hear what you have experienced so I can write back to YOU. =)  Whatever you have gone through in your interracial relationship, past or present, talk to me....ask questions...share stories......I would love to hear what you have to say!  Then I will get back to writing. I have a journal full of topics to write about and our relationship is never lacking in stories, that's for sure!  It seems there is always a new experience just around the corner! I'm sure it's the same for you as well.  Can't wait to hear all about it!

Hey Amy, "Guilty" over here. I always read, but seldom comment. Mostly I read and laugh, chuckle, sigh, shake my head in disbelief. You'd think as a writer myself I would leave a few words for you. Sorry. :-)
I love reading your blog. I'm in an interracial marriage and I am the product of an interracial marriage, can you say "double whammy"?
Keep blogging, whenever you find the time. I'm reading!
It's me Jess.

Awww Jess thanks for writing back Miss Writer! You are a true "Heinz 57 Mama!" =) Talk about an interracial life! You've got it comin' and goin!'

I also love your writing. You need to always let me know when you write something new. =)

Thanks for reading and for commenting today! Hugs....Amy

Hello, I have always read you blog, but I have hardly commented. I love reading your blog because of the honesty you have. I am in an interracial relationship right now. I really like hearing your perspective.

HolyPoo, =)

Thank you for reading and I am so glad you enjoy my honesty. One of the things I was worried about was being too honest and maybe offending someone or hurting someone's feelings. But everything I write about has honestly been an experience we have had so it is what it is. =) Thanks again for reading...lots more to come. Have a great day!

Well Amy, I have been in interracial relationships as long as I can remember. I have told people many times that growing up in a military background as a brat allowed me to meet and date people from the whole spectrum. I can find beauty in ANY shade of woman but there is a such a draw to a white female to me. And it isn't the sterotype of white women are docile (less attitude) or more open sexually, I just can't explain it.

Daryl,

Thanks for the comment and for being so open. It IS hard to explain because I feel the same way about black men. That is who I am most attracted to. Maybe it is because I have never been so in love and so at peace as I am with my husband and because of that I am attracted to what is making me so happy. Hmmm? Is that it? Case study for sure!

Stereotype of the "docile white woman?" Clearly those people have not crossed my path! LOL!!!

I completely understand what you are saying even though you can't "explain" it! =) Thanks for always reading!

Hi, Amy. So glad you are still out here in "cyberspace." I was checking every few days and was disappointed when I didn't see any new posts for quite awhile. I was concerned that maybe something serious had occurred in your life that was preventing you from blogging. What a relief to know there is nothing wrong.
Ray and I are still going strong and are about to celebrate our 1st Valentine's Day together. I'm excited about that as you might imagine. The first year you're with someone is always so uniquely special because everything you do and every holiday is a "first." I will share more of my own experiences with you when I have more time to write. But for now, let me just say, it's GREAT to have you back.

Awwwww Heather thank you! I have to make sure to make time for my blog. I really love it when I write and hear from all of you out there sometimes I just don't make time to fit it all in. I'm so happy that you and Ray are doing so well. It is a wonderful feeling to have someone in your life that you truly enjoy being with and that makes you so happy. My husband and I were watching tv last night and I just looked at him and said, "I'm so happy we are married." Simple as that. I hope you continue to feel the same with Ray! It's a true blessing. Hugs sent your way...Amy

Hey Amy,

Just stopping in to say, "hi" and I hope you and Jamie have a romantic, love-filled Valentine's Day this weekend. I have some good news. I may be chosen as the next co-chairperson of the Cultural Diversity Council at my job. It will probably take a few months for it to be official, if I am chosen. Wish me luck! :)

Hi Amy

(Thanks for the sweet comment about my fb picture) I'm guilty too...I always read but rarely comment. However, reading what you and Jamie experience makes me feel like Fredie and I aren't alone in our journey and that there are other people out there who understand what we and our children go through every day. Just a funny to make you laugh and to show how well adjusted my baby is...the other day he came home from school, where they were having the "mark one choice" issue about his race and he politely told them that he is a "zebra" because he is black and white and that makes him special. I had to smile and hug my baby and laugh inside to think about the looks on the faces of the school officials...because you know they just didn't touch that one !!!

Teri,

Thank you for continuing to read! I love that you are! So insane that you posted about the zebra comment! My next post is going to be just that, but a totally different zebra story. You will giggle hard when you read it! Zebra story coming up next....=)

Amy -
Just wanted to let you know that since you have Loving Day posted here as a place you like to visit, I checked it out several months ago. Like so many people, I was unaware of this landmark case and pioneering couple. I have since added my own "What Loving Day Means to me" entry. Thanks for listing it here on your blog. The most amazing thing is, I've brought the idea of a Loving Day celebration to the Cultural Diversity council at my job, and it looks like we may be having a Loving Day celebration here this year! Just wanted to let you know that that all started because of you listing it here! Amy, you are having a bigger impact on lives than you know. The ripple effect continues on. Don't stop talking(blogging), you never know how far your reach may be. Thanks again!

Heather,

I literally cried when I read your comment! I can't tell you how much it means to me that you are being inspired to do work in regards to interracial relationships because of information you are finding on my blog. I'm serious, I'm so touched. I just can't believe that a simple suggestion from my husband in regards to writing about interracial relationships has turned into something that is not only helping others but also bringing such wonderful, inspirational people into my life. I wish I could write more because the stories are endless. There is just not enough time in the day! I am working on it though...I am determined to write, if not full time, at least part time. I love it! Truly love it. So today, I want to thank YOU for motivating me to keep on keepin' on! Have a beautiful weekend Heather.....cheers to you and Ray!! Hugs sent your way....Amy
